FTD Educação PNLD website

Between 2020 and 2022, Media Clorians rebuilt FTD Educação's PNLD website in WordPress, with an architecture ready to take in the program's following editions. After one edition produced together, FTD began publishing new editions on its own.

PNLD is the Brazilian federal government program that evaluates and approves textbooks and literary works for public schools. Each edition brought new segments, titles and materials, but what had been approved before remained valid. The program accumulated; FTD's site started from scratch every year. The challenge was to create a structure for editions that didn't exist yet, with accessibility as a requirement from the start.

We separated what belonged to each edition from what needed to remain. The approved catalog was preserved and, around it, we rebuilt the architecture: menus, hierarchies, page formats and the relationships between segments, collections, titles, knowledge areas and subjects. Instead of isolated pages for each edition, a base able to take new layers of content.

We developed custom components for carousels, banners and title entry, controlled by title code, so that entering a title didn't depend on whoever entered the previous one. Page building was left to FTD, with drag and drop on Elementor Pro. A truly reusable structure could not require the agency to come back every year to rebuild it.

The next edition was built on the finished structure, still with our involvement, as a real test before the handover. After that, FTD took over the new editions, and the site stayed live, fed by the client itself. We didn't just deliver something reusable: we delivered a structure that no longer needed to be rebuilt.
